4 Fun Easter Crafting Ideas for Children

Easter is the time of year to get out the glue, coloured card, feathers, pom poms, ribbon, and paint. Whether you’re painting eggs, or making handmade cards, crafting at easter is commonplace in schools and nurseries across the UK.

We’ve got a few great crafting ideas to get your pupils into the Easter spirit, that are budget-friendly and simple, and quick to make.

Easter sign

 

What you’ll need:

 

How to:

  1. Print out your desired message design onto paper
  2. Apply glue to the back of the design and stick it onto coloured card
  3. Hole punch 2 holes in the card and thread through 1 piece of string ensuring it is secure to be hung up
  4. Colour in the design on the paper with pens, crayons, or pencils
  5. Apply felt shapes all around the edge of the sign
  6. Hang up!

Easter tube characters

 

What you’ll need:

 

How to:

  1. Paint the whole toilet tube (each character can be a different colour)
  2. Whilst the paint is drying, cut out ears, beaks, and various features to stick onto the tubes
  3. Once the paint is dry, use the glue stick to attach the facial features (pipe cleaners, card shapes, pom poms) to the characters
  4. Once dry, display the characters around the room

Painted eggs

 

What you’ll need:

 

How to:

  1. Carefully make 2 small holes in an egg, 1 at the top of the egg and 1 at the bottom
  2. Gently blow into the top of the egg, and the egg whites and yolk should begin to come out of the bottom of the egg
  3. Repeat this process until all your eggs are empty
  4. Fold a small piece of ribbon in half, glue both ends to the top of the egg, and leave to dry
  5. Paint your desired pattern onto your eggs
  6. Once dry, display them in the egg tray, or hang them around the room

Easter egg cards

 

What you’ll need:

 

How to:

  • Start by folding a piece of A4/ A5 card in half to create the card
  • Using a template, trace around an ‘egg shape’
  • Cut out the egg shape
  • Create ‘easter’ shapes from cards using handmade templates
  • Use various materials e.g. pipe cleaners, foam shapes, your handmade easter shapes, and pens to decorate your cards
  • Stick a plain piece of coloured card inside the card & write a message to a loved one
  • Give the card & spread the love!
